Each activity is designed to spark curiosity and build key skills to help kids gear up for back-to-school success with a special guest\, Pete the Cat! We’ll read It’s a Small World by Richard and Robert Sherman during our 1:30 p.m. story time. Explore how kindness and connection bring people together across cultures. Then\, children can head to the art table to create a special card for a friend- because friendship is something worth sharing everywhere!  \nAugust 15\nCountdown to Kindergarten\n4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.\nHelp your child launch into their future at Countdown to Kindergarten\, a FREE family event dedicated to helping rising Kindergarteners prepare for their first day of school!  \nAugust 19\nMessy Member Morning – Pendulum Painting\nDuring Member Hour: 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.\nSwing into creativity with a colorful twist! In this Messy Member Morning\, we’ll explore motion and art by creating stunning pendulum paintings. Experiment with gravity and rhythm as you bring your art work to life!   \nAll Month Long\nPuppet Show\nWednesdays and Saturdays at 3:30 p.m.\nAugust Show: Circus of the Stars: Step right up for Circus of the Stars! When the ringmaster catches a cold\, Bobo the clown is thrown into the spotlight and must lead the whole show!  \nScience Show\nEvery Day 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.\nJoin us at the Science Lab all month for science experiments.  \nStory Time\nSundays at 3:30 p.m.\nJoin us for story time as we read some of our favorites:  \n\nHow Do Dinosaurs Go to School? by Jan Yolen \nChicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin\, Jr. \nThe Pout-Pout Fish Goes to School by Deborah Diesen \nThe Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn \n\nBig Fun with Pete the Cat\nEvery Day 11:45 a.m. and 4:15 p.m.\nBig Fun is where YOU are the star of the show! Join us everyday at 4:15 p.m. for a Pete the Cat inspired Back-to-School Big Fun. \n Special Programs – Every Day at 1:30 p.m.\nJoin us for fun themed activities during the week all month long.   \nAugust 1 – 11: Math Magic: Make math appear like magic! Kids will explore hidden numbers\, shapes\, and patterns using white crayons and watercolor paints. As they brush color over the paper\, math problems and geometric designs are revealed before their eyes!  \nAugust 12 – 18: Silly Sensory: Things are about to get silly! Kids will explore textures and colors as they create their own sensory bags to squish and squeeze. This hands-on activity is perfect for building fine motor skills in a calming\, playful way.   \nAugust 19 – 25: Tech Time: Ever wonder what’s inside your favorite gadgets? Children will become mini engineers as they safely disassemble old electronics to explore the parts and pieces that make them work. This hands-on activity sparks curiosity and offers a fascinating peek into the world of technology!  \nAugust 26 – 31: Shear Genius: Get ready to snip\, clip\, and cut with confidence! We’ll read Scissors on Strike by Jenifer Jones and learn all about safe scissor skills. Then\, children will practice their cutting techniques on a variety of materials like play dough\, slime\, and toilet paper rolls.  \nGet Museum Admission
