Throughout the month\, your superhero (or villain) will have the chance to train like a superhero\, strengthen their minds\, explore their super senses and expose the secrets of real life “villains” aka germs. Suit up and get ready to assemble your best self! \nSpecial Programs | Daily at 1:30 p.m.\nMay 1 – May 11\nSuper Strength: May is National Physical Fitness and Sports Month and to celebrate we are going to train like superheroes. Step into your story to take on an exciting fitness challenge to build strength\, agility\, and endurance. This is your chance to discover how powerful you can be!   \nMay 12 – May 18\nSuper Minds: May is Mental Health Awareness Month\, and we are doing an activity for a mindful moment! We are going to make sensory power wands with different textures because even superheroes need a peaceful moment. After you complete it\, give your power wand a shake to see the colors\, watch the charms move and take a deep\, calming breath.   \nMay 19 – May 25\nSuper Senses: Super Senses are here to save the day! Join us this week to explore the five senses and how we use them every day. Test your super smell to try and tell the difference between two scents and sort different items to see how they connect to each of the five senses.   \nMay 26 – May 31\nSuper Villains: Ever wanted to learn about super villains? Well\, this week at DPKH we are going to meet real life villains called Germs! During the activity\, we will learn how germs spread\, how they affect our bodies\, and ways to stay healthy! DESCRIPTION:Sensory-friendly hours are monthly and happen on the first Sunday of every month from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.\nWe’re inviting all families with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)\, Sensory Processing Disorders and vision or hearing impairments and their caregivers to come and interact with the experiences we offer at our Rockingham location. \nThe event is for children with sensory sensitivities and special needs to enjoy private time in the Museum’s hands-on exhibit spaces and to explore in a calmer\, quieter environment. Come and experience everything that Discovery Place Kids–Rockingham has to offer. \nThis experience is included in Museum Admission.  \nGET MUSEUM ADMISSION
