Get ready for a month filled with magic\, fun\, and unforgettable stories!  \nSpecial Programs | Daily at 1:30 p.m.\nMarch 1 – 9 \nThe Three Little Pigs: Get ready for a hilarious twist on the classic tale of The Three Little Pigs: as told by The Big Bad Wolf! We will read “The True Story of The Three Little Pigs” by Jon Scieskca and children will have a chance to build their own versions of the three little pig’s houses.  \nMarch 10 – 16 \nRhyme Time: Discover the magic of poetry through catchy rhymes and silly sounds! After reading “Sheep in a Jeep” by Nancy Shaw and Margot Apple\, we will create our own silly rhyming stories!  \nMarch 17 – 23 \nThe Greatness in You: Join us as we read The Greatness in You by Tameka Fryer Brown and discover the unique strengths that make each of us special. After our story\, we’ll explore positive character traits and create a “Character Pastabilities” necklace using pasta beads to represent the greatness we carry inside  \nMarch 24 – 31 \nFairy Tale Fiasco: Step into the silly\, mixed-up world of The Great Fairy Tale Disaster by David Conway and discover what happens when classic fairy tales don’t go as planned! After the story\, children will create their own mixed up fairy tales using shadow boxes\, flashlights\, and puppets to bring their wacky\, one-of-a-kind stories to life.  \nGet Museum Admission

From counting and shapes to number hunts and creative expression\, each week invites children to see math all around them in exciting and imaginative ways. Join us as we build early math skills through creativity\, curiosity and discovery! \nSpecial Programs | Daily at 1:30 p.m.\nApril 1 – April 6\nProgram Math Dots: Let’s count to 10! Blend early math skills with creativity and storytelling in this playful\, hands-on program. After reading 10 Black Dots by Donald Cruz\, guests will explore how numbers can turn into pictures by transforming black dots into their own art pieces.   \nApril 7 – April 13\nDon’t Be a Square:Who says it’s not hip to be square? Join us for a reading of Perfect Square by Michael Hall. Using the story as our guide\, we’ll explore all the things a perfectly imperfect square can become. Guests will transform their own squares into creative works of art. \nApril 14 – April 20\nI Spy Numbers: “I spy with my little eye” …. numbers everywhere!  This week we hunt for numbers and other objects in the book I Spy Numbers by Jean Marzollo. Guests will play their own game of I Spy as they sort through sensory bins to find crazy objects and numbers.    \nApril 21 – April 30\nHidden in Plain Sight: Math\, art\, literature\, and science all come to life this week as we explore number art. We’ll read Numblers by Suse MacDonald and Bill Oakes\, searching for hidden numbers within the illustrations. No art expertise needed. DESCRIPTION:Sensory-friendly hours are monthly and happen on the first Sunday of every month from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.\nWe’re inviting all families with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)\, Sensory Processing Disorders and vision or hearing impairments and their caregivers to come and interact with the experiences we offer at our Rockingham location. \nThe event is for children with sensory sensitivities and special needs to enjoy private time in the Museum’s hands-on exhibit spaces and to explore in a calmer\, quieter environment. Come and experience everything that Discovery Place Kids–Rockingham has to offer. \nThis experience is included in Museum Admission.  \nGET MUSEUM ADMISSION
