In addition to new exhibits\, some of the Museum’s “greatest hits” have been upgraded\, including the Gizmotron\, which is now the Rockingham Quarry\, a new racetrack in Speed Shop\, and the canoe at the tree house has been replaced with an interactive kayak rowing experience.

In this movement challenge\, children will be imitating the movements of crabs\, lobsters\, shrimp\, and hermit crabs. This activity encourages physical activity and imagination to learn about these ocean animals.  \nJuly 8 – 14: Jawsome Sharks: Shark week! From science shows to story time\, every visit is filled with hands-on fun for kids of all ages. \nAll museum events and activities are free with admission. \nFebruary Theme: Winter Olympics & Black History Month: This month we are celebrating the spirit of the Olympics while honoring Black History Month. Through inspiring stories of trailblazing athletes\, children will learn about teamwork\, determination\, healthy bodies\, and believing in themselves. Each week we will connect movement\, creativity\, and real-life role models\, encouraging kids to dream big\, try new things\, and discover the power of hard work and resilience. Plus\, our museum will have an Olympic challenge competition to complete all around the museum.  \nSpecial Programs | Daily at 1:30 p.m.\nFebruary 1 – 9: \nBobsled Engineering: Kick off the Olympic season by reading about the Jamaican Bobsledding team that made history with their journey to the Olympics. After the story\, children can design and build their own bobsleds with recycled materials. This will take patience and teamwork just like real Olympic athletes.  \nFebruary 10 – 16: \nRun\, Jump\, Breathe: This week we explore the story of Jesse Owens while discussing how athletes keep their bodies strong\, especially in their hearts and lungs. We are going to bring cardiovascular health to life by making a DIY lung model to see how breathing fuels movement to keep us active and healthy.  \nFebruary 17 – 23:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIce Skating Magnetics Game: Glide into hands-on fun with our Ice Skating Magnetics Game! Blend early math skills with creativity and storytelling in this playful\, hands-on program.
