The future is bright at Discovery Place Kids-Rockingham!
We’re preparing for back-to-school all month with crafts, stories and interactive programs that sharpen children’s learning skills. Join us for fun themed activities throughout the week.
Special Programs (Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1:30 p.m.)
- August 6 and 8: Learning Letters: Join us for a reading of “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom” by Bill Martin Jr, followed by crafts that enhance little guest’s letter recognition and fine motor skills!
- August 13 and 15: Cutting Skills: We will go over scissor safety and practice cutting lines, zig-zags, and waves as we sharpen our snipping skills. Your little learner will go to school with cutting confidence!
- August 20 and 22: Full STEAM Ahead: Learn the colors of the rainbow as we combine STEM and Art to make a rainbow! Using salt and glue, we will create a chemical reaction and form a colorful abstract art piece.
- August 27 and 29: Silly Sensory: This week, discover your senses as we use our fingers, eyes and noses to create a silly sensory bag!
Puppet Show (Wednesdays and Fridays at 3:30 p.m.)

Science Show (Daily at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.)
Join us at the Science Lab all month for science experiments.
Story Time (Sundays at 1:30 p.m.)

Big Fun (Daily ay 11:45 a.m. and 4:15 p.m.)
Big Fun is where YOU are the star of the show! Children and adults can move and groove to three of our favorite songs. Put your dancing shoes on and join us for this daily dance party!
