Theme: Storybook Fun: This month, we’re diving into the world of Storybook Fun at Discovery Place Kids – Rockingham! Join us as we explore classic tales and the magic of storytelling through interactive crafts and hands-on activities. Get ready for a month filled with magic, fun and unforgettable stories!
Special Programs (Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 1:30 p.m.)
Join us for fun themed activities during the week all month long. Program activities, times and days are subject to change.
March 4 – March 9: Rhyme Time: Discover the magic of poetry through catchy rhymes and silly sounds! After reading “Sheep in a Jeep” by Nancy Shaw and Margot Apple, we will create our own silly rhyming stories!
March 11 – March 16: The Three Little Pigs: Get ready for a hilarious twist on the classic tale of The Three Little Pigs: as told by The Big Bad Wolf! We will read “The True Story of The Three Little Pigs” by Jon Scieskca and children will have a chance to build their own versions of the three little pig’s houses.
March 18 – March 23: Becoming Me: Join us for a reading of “I am Jane Goodall” by Brad Meltzer and explore the life of an awesome scientist. Children will learn about biographies and autobiographies, then create their own autobiography pages to share their own unique story!
March 25 – March 30: Fairy Tale Fiasco: Step into a fairy tale like no other in “The Great Fairy Tale Disaster” by David Conway. After reading, we will explore the common elements of fairy tales and then children will get to create their very own castle craft to take home.

- Program: Truffula Trees: Take a sweet adventure through The Lorax by Dr. Seuss and discover the importance of caring for our environment. After the story, get creative to make your own edible Truffula tree – just like the ones in the story!

March Show: The Shell Games: Visit the wonderful world of Miranda the Mermaid and her underwater friends. Join them on this fun-filled adventure as they explore the wonders of the ocean!
